The three main trekking areas the Everest region, Annapurna Region and Langtang Region are the mostly busiest trekking areas in Nepal. Nepal caters a single day trekking to a month long trekking.

Depending upon the trekker's choice, Trekking in Nepal is possible throughout the year (not every trail). However the best trekking season is either before the monsoon or after the monsoon. Basically Nepal experiences four seasons: Autumn, Spring, Summer/Monsoon and Winter. Among the four seasons Autumn and Spring seasons are considered as the best seasons for trekking in Nepal.

Autumn season is considered as the best trekking season in Nepal. Marked by the clear skies, pleasant weather, colorful environment and the months of big Nepalese festivals Teej, Dashain, Tiher, Chhat, Autumn season is the best among all kinds of visitors who want to explore the mountains, culture and heritage in Nepal.

Winter Season (starting from December to February)

Winter season is not so much favorable for trekking in high altitude passes like Annapurna Circuit Trek, Langtang Gosainkunda Lake Trek, Everest Three pass Trek etc. But if you have limited time, you can trek in lower altitude like langtang valley trek, ghorepani poon hill trek, Kathmandu short trek, Everest view trek etc.


Spring Season (starting from March to May)

Spring season is considered as the second best season for trekking in Nepal. Spring season gives a unique experience in trekking as the hills are covered with the blooming flowers of rhododendron. This season is best for climbing holidays.


Monsoon/Summer Season (starting from June to August)

Due to the heavy rainfall and slippery trails, monsoon season trekking is not recommended in Nepal. There are some popular trekking trails that lies in rain shadow areas like Upper Mustang, Upper Dolpo and Nar-phu which are the best trekking trails during this season.
